He probably said that because AJ hasn't been able to participate in any of the summer workouts including 7 on 7's since his arrest. Sounds like Harris is seizing the opportunity.

Wearing #5 with his speed and versatility, i think he compares to Reggie Bush. I know he has 15-20 lbs on Bush(at least as college frosh)but he's a freak athlete and I expect he'll get his fair share of touches for a change of pace.
He lacks the top speed and quickness of Bush, but he has similar vision and ability to cut. He'll be a good one for sure.

I see him as very similar to Shady McCoy. I like the Cadillac Williams comparison too if you go a little further back.

For Some reason I see Michael Ford, but with a higher football IQ?

Ford was more north & south though. He had that explosion when he saw the hole or when got around the edge on tosses or option runs. While the ability to accelerate quickly maybe similar, Derrius has a wiggle & cut back ability that Ford didn't possess.

Not really like Ford IMO...
People compare him to Reggie Bush and Shady McCoy and all that... And while he def has some nasty moves and speed and can score from anywhere on the field, he's a between the tackles runner that is very physical and does not shy away from contact. Kid is an angry runner who refuses to go down and doesn't shy away from contact at all.
And that's why I see a lot of similarities between Guice and Cadillac Williams. Dangerous everywhere they touch the football, but are extremely physical and powerful and can be a workhorse if need be.
Kids a big time talent

I agree. He's definitely going to be a nightmare in space. He simply runs with too much power yet he has the quickness of a much smaller type back. He's a threat to take a simple dumpoff the distance with his quickness, ability to break tackles & his ability to accelerate quickly. The quickness in space he brings to the table is something we as fans haven't seen much of lately from our running backs. What Guice has is special.

Guice's response when asked why Harris has been standing out:
"This dude's got a cannon, he throws it so fast and accurate it makes no sense. Everyone complains about how hard he throws the ball. Cause it's just so amazing how much power and force he can bring to the ball and the impact it can bring to your hands when it hits you. It hurts so bad"
Sounds like a good problem to me
He said he wants to be on kick return to start the offense in good field position and on kickoff to start off the game by lighting someone up

I remember on the recruiting board some people compared him to Marshawn Lynch while others compared him to a Barry Sanders or Shady McCoy... 2 completely different running styles
But he's really a mix of those 2 styles and can do it all... Complete RB and football player.

I'm looking forward to seeing Derrius play.

Opposing defenses are going to get caught on their heels thinking they can relax because Fournette isn't on the field as well. They are going to find out quickly just how talented Guice is no matter how the ball gets in his hands whether it's from a hand off, screen or checkdown.

You know exactly what the hell I mean. You just wanted to post that gif tonight.

Agree again
LF and Guice are a perfect combination and complement each other extremely well. Both guys can do it all and are complete RBs but their best qualities are different from each other. But their overall skill sets are very rare and unique.
Man was just thinking about all of our skill position players.... STACKED

I'm ready for this season to start. This squad is going to prove a bunch of doubters to be wrong.

My only hope is that Les tells Cam "frick it on developing Harris for the system, let's roll with what he can do and win a championship"

he's not going to run for the sidelines every play.
He's a Knoshown Moreno type. Remember when he used to get hit them jump up and run back to the huddle? same type of player
