How long does it normally take to drop below 10' form 14'? It just seems to be higher than normal this time of the year

kind of depends on weather or not it rains

Let's assume it does not rain enough to flood areas. I know I am asking a weird question but I have some family coming in town and they want to go to Venice but I can't take them there for trout with the river this high.
I hear they have river water all the way to Gosier Island

Yes the river is higher than normal for this time of year. Its on a slow rise for the next 2 weeks and then a fall after. thats if there is no rain up north to keep pushing water down

Ok I'll bite....why can't you fish Venice with a high river?? Last month was our best month for trout in Venice in four years, I haven't been this excited about trout down there in a while. We have really been doing well.
To answer your question on a normal year the river is at about 6' or less now, the long term forecast looks to keep a high river through August. Crazy things have happened look at last year, the river got right for winter time fishing for all of about 10 days. That hasn't happened in over 42 years.
