Generally not a great thing, but if you know the deal and know you're gonna get use out of it, it can be okay. I know people who have done timeshares and love it.

If you do buy into one the clubs like Hilton Grand Vacation or Wyndham where you get points that you can trade to stay at thousands of other properties.
If you look at it as prepaid vacation you'll be fine if you use it.
If you think it is a real estate investment you can make a profit on then LOL.
