What is a plant guy?
Someone who works in a chemical or refining plant. Most plants have safety rules which prohibit most facial hair because it can prevent a good seal on a respirator in the event of a toxic chemical release. However, the vast majority of plants still allow mustaches because they don't interfere with the respirator mask.

Oh wait, the day isn't about the couple, it's about the bride pretending to be a princess.
I know you're being sarcastic, but this statement is actually very true. The wedding day is all about the bride. Girl's think about, dream about, and plan their wedding day from the time their little girls. Unless you're a giant dickhead you'll let her have her day.

My husband is best man in a wedding next week and was growing a beard.
I contacted the bride to make sure she was ok with that. Luckily she didn't care(said as long as he didn't look like a lumberjack) but wanted to make sure.
I think that's a little different. If I was best man and was growing a normal looking beard I wouldn't give a frick if the bride likes it or not.
We figured she would not care but wanted to just ask to be polite and because we consider both of them good friends. They don't live in the same state as we do so its not like she would see him until the day before the wedding.

Would you have made B Hubby shave if it had been an issue?

At least the rest of us can grow other things to hide the stache.
So its not really just a "mustache", its a beard.

I'd love to know when the moustache truly went out of style
Its been back in style for a while--if you're a hipster douche. Though, you'd hate to admit that it's "in" style, because that would defeat the purpose of you having one in the first place.

I swear I can hear women start ovulating when I walk by.
That's called laughter.

If you're good people, I'm the nicest guy on Earth and will go miles out of my way to help in whatever way I can.
If you aren't, let the shitty pranks begin.
Keeps life interesting.
I just make sure the good outweighs the bad.

I'll share a nugget of wisdom an old friend shared with me before my own wedding almost 18 years ago....
When it comes to a marriage, it needs to be 100% equal effort on both parts from the wife & husband. But when it comes to the wedding day, it's all about the bride. Your job as the groom is to make sure everything goes that day the way she wants. Your importance in the process is just above that of the wedding cake. Stand there, smile, and try not to do anything to mess up her day.
As groomsmen, you should help the groom by doing the same.

Until an hour before the wedding when it blossoms into the beautiful, glorious, facial hair baby it was meant to be.

What started as a drunken bet has now turned into 5 guys rocking pedo staches and 5 guys rocking moustaches worthy of Tombstone.
Y'all have fun.

Why are you in the wedding if you think the bride is a shitty person?

This cliche has gotten really old.

The groom is the country boy equivalent of Jesus?
Known him for nearly 25 years at this point.
And let thw record show, I never said she was a shitty person, you said it.

You pretty much made it known with this statement.

The.
Thank you for reiterating everyone's point on how ad hominem your life truly is.

It is old but that doesn't lessen the truth of it though. And why would you want it any other way? Weddings are something for the bride, it's not about us nor should it be about us.

This thread backfired quickly. Last time I saw something this hilarious is when some TapOut wearing 50 year old oil field worker posted a picture of his jacked up truck after he washed it
Posted on 7/6/15 at 9:32 am to logjamming
Unfortunately, I have never owned a tap out shirt.
Perhaps we should all wear one under our tuxedos?

No. I just would have passed on the bride's request to him. He's a grown man, he can decide to go with her wishes or not. I wouldn't have made him shave on our wedding day either if he didn't want to(if he had a beard then).
I just know some brides get overly picky about stuff like that.
