Europeans who started it?
Hell, the Africans were enslaving each other. And if they are going to claim Egyptians and the Arabs as Africans, as they do in Black Athena, then the Africans were REALLY into the slavery thing long before the Europeans came along.
The Europeans didn't start it and they did profit by it but they also finished it.

Yes but we are told that this is ok because they were enslaving conquered people and not doing it because of color.....
