Georgia, aw man those guys. How do you lose to Florida like that? Adding to the weirdness was that GT loss. None of my ACC friends wann hear it but I swear Georgia looked like the far and away better team in that game. They fumbled at GT's 1 yard line twice I believe. And ahhhhh that squib kick at the end of the game Felt like the SEC did some great things but in the end they had some bizzare/amateur hour type games that left a bad feeling in everyone's mouth. Seemed like there was no leadership on otherwise talented teams
I'll say this about GT - good option teams tend to do that. When we play Navy every year, it seems like we dominate them and somehow they're still hanging around at the end of the third quarter with the outcome still very much in doubt. Navy did the same to OSU two years ago and a good South Carolina team a few years ago as well. Those kinds of offenses just throw your whole game off if they're clicking. If they're not clicking, they get blown out badly. We play GT this year, and I am not particularly looking forward to that game.
On the leadership thing, I think that's a direct result of having no "take the team on my shoulders and win games" type of quarterbacks outside of Dak Prescott in the conference. QB play in general was kind of crap all over the SEC last year.
On the same note, I think that's why my own team had more than its fair share of bizarre/amateur hour type of stuff last year. Golson is a very talented guy, but he is one flaky MFer, and he has some real confidence issues. He made a throw that maybe only two or three other college QB's can make to win the Stanford game (and actually made a throw in the Rice game of all places that I'm not sure any other college QB could have made), played nearly flawless against FSU, then lost the ASU game basically by himself on turnovers, then came out with his head in the clouds against USC that resulted in a historical beatdown. shite, when we played UNC, he single-handedly dug us into a big hole and then turned around and basically won the game by himself all in the same game.
Good QB's who are good leaders drive that sort of consistency across a team. That seemed to be lacking across college football last year outside of a few teams.

How do you feel about Golson being at FSU now? I was at the ND FSU game last year, wow. I'm hoping Jimbo doesn't work his magic with him. Golson's bad is really, really bad. 10 turnovers in the 4 games leading to that game. But his good is elite.
