I think the skepticism surrounding outdoor writers in general concerns their willingness to divulge very specific fishing spots.
This. He's an open book of information and knowledge, but he gives away any and every fishing spot.
speaking of Ty Hibbs and the Mason thing, anyone know what happened with those fake bands he shot and that super "rare" teal and him hunting on private property? Did Todd go back and write a story about any of that too or revise his old one?

Ty didn't shoot the banded ducks. Another guy did.
The teal was legit. Property situation was questionable re: dude that shot the bands. I don't know if that ever resolved itself.
About the spots: that's really what bothers me about outdoor writing in general. How you fish is often just as important (more so in some instances) than where you fish. Social media + the spread of those articles makes everyone think it's all about fishing a particular spot, which leads to 10000 boats at the rocks/oak river/etc. I just wish they'd focus more on the "how."
