Just checked summer leagues for returning LSU players and neither Lange nor Poche are listed. Anyone know why they're not participating?

Just speculation but Lange needs to rest arm. Pitched more than he has in his life.

I'm totally okay with Lange shutting it down. Get him in the weight room and let him pitch bullpens but he pitched a ton of innings, especially late in the year.

In Lange's case he 's thrown way more innings this year then he ever did in high school. Good idea to rest his arm. He probably would have been in the Cape or with Team USA had they not wanted to rest him.

They will be doing offseason training in Lutcher with Riz St. Germain.

I don't think it would hurt Poche to play summer ball somewhere to help him shake off his last outing and put it behind him. But I understand Mainieri wanting to shut both guys down for the summer. This has been pretty common for our starters lately. Generally they'll throw no more than a couple starts in summer ball or shut it down completely

Lange (114 inn) and Poche (109 inn) have nothing to gain by throwing more this summer.
