I no longer need a truck. Instead I have a Subaru Outback with a trailer hitch. It will tow a fishing boat, an ATV, and it has four wheel drive. It handles ice and snow with no problem, and I can get 30mpg on the highway.

Renting a UHAUL trailer once or twice a year that I need to move something big is way cheaper than a $50,000 Chevy Silverado. It doesn't make sense to me to drive something designed to tow 5 tons across the arctic tundra when I don't need that capacity pretty much ever.

I am intrigued by the new mid sized truck from Chevrolet though. The Colorado looks very good. Probably a more appropriate size for my needs.

The colorados are nice.

Only issue is you get 50% of the capability of full size trucks for 85% of the price

How big of a boat are you towing?

I've only ever had Yukons, but the next one will be a truck. Between my hunting and fishing gear my vehicle is always smelling like mildew. Also will be towing a boat.

fricking Subaru.

I am one of those that can't pinch my nose enough to admit that I would like a Subaru. I value economic and high utility objects/tools more than most. But I can't stomach the amount of granola needed to drive a Subaru.
