2) Even with first round guaranteed money, at the slot he's being projected at, he can only earn up to about 900k give or take for 2 years before taxes. With his supposed family monetary problems, 1 mill (post taxes) won't go very far. Teams aren't required to pick up your 3rd year qualifying offer.

Instead of staying and developing safely into a first round pick, he's playing roulette with his career for the possible quick payday.
