Stephenson went from a 13/7/4 49fg/35 3pt player on a talented playoff team to an 8/4/4 player who shot 37% from the field and 17% from 3 as he tried to adjust to a bigger role with the less talented Hornets. He's better suited to be a role player on a good team, just like Matthews is.

Matthews is a good teammate and shooter, no doubt. But he has trouble creating his own shot. Something like 70% of his points over his career have came off of assisted passes.
