Take her to Nottoway Plantation out in White Castle. Pick up two tickets to the tour of the grounds. Then go through the small, self-guided tour at the very end.
Then offer her two options and flip the script on her:
Option 1 - They have a simple hot-plate type kitchen that serves jambalaya, sandwiches, beer and daiquiris that's open to the public.
Option 2 - The Mansion Restaurant is a 4* type place that has absolutely fantastic food and-if you make a reservation on the veranda-a view and setting that are pretty much unlike anything in the area. They do a pretty d@mn good Mint Julep too.
That way, you ace the test but also see if she relents after you knock it out of the park and goes with a nice restaurant afterwards or sticks to her guns and goes low-key with Option 1.
Don't worry about prices, either. You can get fantastic stuff on their menu there from an entrée perspective for less than $20. If you're cost conscious you can make it out of there for <$100 easy if you're careful.
