Most of the time it ends badly for citizen, though that trend is slowly changing. Police officers shouldn't be given a free slate to do as they wish with no regard for law or rights.

It's frightening that you imply that the average citizen should comply with officers acting unlawfully. Do you advocate that citizens always comply with criminals too? Or are cops always above the law?

does the average citizen know when they are acting unlawfully? I am guessing you are a lawyer...would you really advise the average citizen to never comply with a cop?
