Austinites are elitists. Their town is better because they tell everyone it is better. I mean it is the "Live Music Capitol of the World" 
Fort Worth has a great music scene and seems to be what everyone based their opinion of Austin on (15-20 years ago)

Fort Worth also has by far the best downtown of any of the major TX cities. Not full of disgusting bums and tourists like Austin and SA and not gigantic business parks like Dallas and Houston
