curious as to how many people come in not knowing what they want
everything ive ever bought from a gun shop i just went in, pointed at it, paid and left

i realize there is knowledge behind the counter but i have to believe most people do at least some research before they go in?

You can read all you want but there is a difference between how it looks and feels when you hold or shoulder the gun.

The few times I've gone in there I have asked to see a gun, and before the key makes it to the lock or before they could even turn around to grab a rifle off the shelf they're already pushing something else saying it's "junk" Another time I went in looking to see if they carried Vortex scopes before Vortex really started to make a name for themselves. The guy behind the counter said "If we don't carry it, it's not worth mounting." The prices on guns there aren't terrible, but everything else is ridiculous. Those are my experiences with Hebert.

I wish more people were like you

you're underestimating the intelligence of the average person. People are retarded. Im like you in that I have 3 narrowed down before going in, but we're definitely in the minority. I gets guys all the time that ask me what "state of residence" means on the 4473. I can kinda see why gun shops can have dicks for employees because it does wear on you. Fortunately for Bowie's, we have just 3 counter guys in the gun dept and we all have a good amount of patience. Only time I'll be a dick is when people are incessantly rude or aggressive.
