I bought a franchI from him, had problems cycling. Told me they would fix it and never got around to it. Kept giving me dates and never met them. I had enough and emailed Beretta. They got the gun from CJ and worked on it. Ended up they couldn't fix it either, so they refunded me my money.

But a buddy of mine worked there for a while so I used to spend some time in there checking new stuff out. The best way to put it is that CJ is a buffoon. It is amazing that he has been successful in business.

I used to work at Bowits selling guns. I think it's a pretty good spot to buy one. While I was there the prices were pretty good, everything was pretty much marked up 15% across the board. Cheaper than anyone but Academy most of the time.

I go to Jims because I like the store and it's convenient. Sometimes you get someone who is really helpful and other times you get someone who isn't as motivated. I could certainly see why someone wouldn't want to go there.

There was a classic thread on Bayou Shooter a few (2-3 ?) years ago. Started w/ a story about Hebert not taking back a defective RDS or laser optic. Dozens of people chimed in to describe their own experiences.

I've been to Heberts 3 or 4 times. It just feels like they have zero respect for the customer when your in there.
Basically everyone I know that has been there feels the same way.
I don't know how they are still in business

I've heard the same things once or twice about Jims, but I've been there a good amount of times, and always found them helpful, and respectful. One guy took time to talk to me about starting out in reloading for about a half hour.
