My property tax portion of my mortgage in The Woodlands is about the same as my entire mortgage in Louisiana . But, there's a reason it's so nice there......you're paying for it.

Last time the rain came through, the water brought tons of trash into the "ponds" they have around the neighborhood. Within 2 days it was all cleaned out. The free water/splash pad in the park by us wasn't working, so someone made a call and it was working later that afternoon. You pay out that rear in taxes, but stuff gets done.

I can't agree more with taxes vs things getting done. Also, I pay less in property taxes in Texas than I would income tax in LA.
