X-Plans for Vehicles...help me understand

My wife and I are looking to purchase new cars by the end of 2015 and my company has the X Plan with Ford. I just so happen to be leaning towards a Fusion (35,000+miles/yr for work) and she loves the Escape. How does the X plan work? Do I state all the options I want and the X plan spits out a number? Does it just give me a price for a specific model and then I have to negotiate the options? Has anyone found that the X Plan gives a decent price to avoid the hassles of negotiating with a dealership? Any info or experiences would be appreciated.

You say I want this vehicle and then you pay the X-plan price. Pretty simple.
XPlan rules
It is dealer invoice * .4% + admin fees. You can also take advantage of incentives.
When Ford owned part of Mazda the plan was available for Mazda's. I bought two cars with and was in and out of the dealership in 30-45 min each time.
On one I got the X-Plan -$500 rebate-$500 Mazda loyalty bonus AND 0% financing.

I'm looking at my company's page for the plan and it lists the price for the various models...it doesn't list various package options. Say I wanted the Titanium model of the Fusion, but also wanted to add an extra package to it, how do I get a price for that?

The X-Plan is established by the manufacturer and usually a formula (see above). You can likely get the invoice price at any research site. Can also simply call a dealer, tell them it's X-Plan and they can tell you. The whole idea is it's pre-negotiated. No haggling.
It's a good price for little work. Depending on model, a great price. It's possible to work a better deal, but requires more effort. Also have to be cautious of the fees. These are not set by manufacturer and are where the dealer tries to get some extra profit on these sales. Under the guise of "required" or "standard fees".

Pretty sure you have to negotiate that separately, and you can bet the dealer ain't gonna budge.

I didn't pay those fees. I asked the dealer if they were willing to lose the sale over their $250 fees.

I have bought 3 fords in the past 4 years, 2 of them with xplan. The xplan price is printed on the invoice of the vehicle no matter the options. It is that price minus available incentives. There is a website at fordpartner.com the code to enter should be available from the employer. All,the prices are laid out there. Bought my f150 in 11 with it , no problems. On my 13 f250 I was able to get almost all of the holdback from the dealer and I did better than xplan. When I bought my 15 mustang gt back in Nov. xplan was definitely the best deal as no one wanted to move off sticker because the cars were new and in short supply.

It is a price documented on the dealer invoice - Ask to see it no haggle - you will also get any available incentives on top of supplier pricing.

Most high volume dealers blow x plan (ford)and GM supplier pricing way out the water. If the dealer is advertising heavy on top of factory rebates its a better deal all day everyday over x plan and supplier pricing. Do your research. Will save you money. Don't fall for x plan supplier pricing.

I used X plan on my last car. I was able to go on a dealer website and see their inventory with the X plan price. Found 2 I liked and went to the dealership. Asked if they would honor it and they said yes. No hassle and got a $4k rebate also applied.
Could maybe get a better deal but I liked the no BS approach.
