1) I can't believe we are having an argument about a guy's opinion, it's his fricking opinion!
2) You can't make an argument about someone being better than someone because they were drafted ONE slot above them in the draft. That's just silly.
3) Swanson was always ahead of Bregman because they thought he was much more likely to stick at SS. Bregman proved this season he can play SS at an elite level.
Projecting future talent level is extremely hard to do in MLB and there isn't much evidence that teams are terribly good at it outside of the first half of the first round. Saying the best hitter he has faced was Alex is a perfectly plausible answer. Alex has great pitch recognition and they can be more frustrating to a pitcher than a guy that hammers a ball in the zone, one who constantly lays off good pitches just outside of the zone and always puts the ball in play.
