Why does everyone automatically assume Beckwith is gonna go pro? He's a beast, but has a long way to go to be an nfl lb. Very poor in coverage. Bad angles and missed tackles. The kid is still learning the position.

Actually Beckwith is a lot closer to NFL ready than you think, plus he has prototypical size and the speed the NFL covets. I remember how Minter exploded from year one starting, to year 2, and I see similar happening for Beckwith. Beckwith was also much more productive in 6 starts (all against power 5 opponents) as a true sophomore than Minter in 11 starts as a redshirt sophomore.

Looked terrible vs ND.
Not very NFLish.

Beckwith is going pro at seasons end because he weighs 250 lbs, can run and will be all SEC as he shoots up the draft boards faster than a gram of heroin going up Keith Richards arse. I'll put money he is a 1st rounder with LSU being forced into a 3-4 next year. It's Steeles plan to move into a 3-4 but I don't know if he is ready to make the jump so soon with our personnel.

Minter's 2011 was a lot better than Beckwith's 2014. I don't care what the stats say; Minter was killing it in the back half of the year.

Minter had an elite dline in front of him, though, so it's hard to compare.
