Best Rewards Credit Card

Looking for a good rewards card with a fixed rate. Have a $7000 student loan left to pay and it's something like 17% rate. Plan is to throw a couple grand at it then put the rest on a credit card and pay off.

Rewards card and good rate doesn't usually go together
You can probably find one with a promotional rate though if you plan to pay the loan off in a reasonable time
Citi double cash is a good cash back card. Check their promotions

Sounds like you are looking for a good balance transfer.
There are a number of ones that will give you 12-18 months of 0% interest for balance transfers.
If that is what you are trying to do, I would do that if you can afford to pay it off in a year or so.
You can always re-roll into a new card if you miss the mark and start your 0% over again.
keep in mind there is usually a $75 max transfer fee. If you pay it off quick, should not even come close to all the interest you save.

I don't think you get points for balance transfers or they checks the sometimes send. But I'm not 100% positive on that.
For general rewards, if cash back is your plan look at the capital one cards. I just got the spark business and it has unlimited 2% cash back on everything. If you can get it and cash back is your goal, I'd recommend. (The quicksilver is a non business card and offers 1.5% too). I find it easier than the category cards personally. I still use my CSP for personal stuff which is 1% everything, 2% dining and travel, and then 3% for travel booked through ultimate rewards.
Those are my two "workhorses", if you will.
