I own a lawnservice and $20/week is cheap . 90% of lawnservices includes edging, weedeating, and blowing. If you are only paying $80/month year round you are getting a helluva deal.
FWIW. Most residential yards avg $50 a cut

A lot of good, reputable guys around this area charge a $50 minimum per yard even if they are lined up.
Does this lawn guy have a bunch of yards in your subdivision? If so, that is why they will do it so cheap, if they can just move to the next yard on their mower, they can do it cheap as hell especially if you don't have much weed eating to do.
Around here, contracts aren't unheard of at all and they typically cut on a two week cycle during the year and then clean up during the fall and winter.
ETA. All this said, I bought a nice zero turn and enjoy cutting my grass and annoying my dogs hauling arse around the yard.
