Duramax or cummins stay away from power stroke. I keep my mechanic well paid with power strokes in the shop.

The 6.7 powerstrokes are bad arse. Like others have said, is stay away from the 6.0-6.4. I have put 10k in the past 12 months on my 6.4 and have a bed plate leak which ford wants 8k to repair a $16 gasket. I'm going to let it ride with the drip. But with 140K, I have had to replace the turbo, EGR valve, and both front calipers.

I also have a 14 250 6.7 and those engines are beast. That is a sports car engine that can pull a house. I'm still amazed at the difference In performance between the 2

Like other posters said , maintenance is key as well as more costly. Every other oil change which is over 100 bucks you have to change fuel filters as well.

As far as best, IDk. I guess it's more of preference. I lean more towards fords becuSe in my mind, the look the best and have the most features. The new Chevys are nice but I'm not crazy about the interior. That's just me though
