I never said he's total shite. In fact, I've always thought he held promise. But to say he's had some "shaky moments" in a U.S. jersey is an understatement. There's a video in the link of his defending in a pre-WC friendly last year against Turkey. Defending like that may make some of us slightly nervous for him today...

He didn't really kill in this Bundesliga season either, he played just over half the matches.
