The show peaks without him.

Winston is better than he is.

I'm not saying you're wrong, because I haven't seen the show (and because that seems to be a popular opinion).

I just love DWJ. Dude cracks me up constantly. And I thought he was fine in the pilot. So far, Winston hasn't really done shite on the show yet, so I don't really have a take on him fitting in or not. We shall see.

IMO, he peaks shortly before they bring Coach back, and then drops off significatly for a while because they don't know what to do with both him and coach.

They should have brought in one of Tyler Perry's writers to figure out how to write more than one black character at a time.*

*I don't actually believe they should have done that.

Same thing happened in real time

DWJ fans claimed how terrible Winston is and how great DWJ is (not deny this) but then eventually (around season 2) Winston starts to frickin shine. Wait until the hand bells episode

But then they give him a cat and bring Wayans back and ruin him fairly quickly

He is wrong. Damon Wayans Jr. is gold in everything, including New Girl, particularly after he settles in with the cast and moves away from the loud, overcompensating guy to become a real person.

Lamorne Morris is great, though.

As for Parks & Rec, do not watch Season 1. It will honestly turn you off the show. I tried to bull through it and couldn't. As a result, I stopped watching that show for over two years before picking up on Season 2, which still starts bad, but by episode 6 or so really finds out what it is.
