You really should. Depending on what you want to do, you can get a solid inexpensive one. The rentals at the Narrows are probably around $200.
We took them out to Percy Priest for the first time two weekends ago and hung out on one of the islands out there. For the Harpeth, here's a great little shoot out by Ensworth worth checking out.
