The Pac-12, the Conference of Champions, has no truck stop campuses. The Big 12 is full of truck stops.

if ISU makes a good hire, they will be ok. They make a bad hire, it could push them back for years.

Why not go in state and go after Northern Iowas coach, Ben Jacobson.

Guy can coach, he would seem like a great fit.

Smart move for him. The money is more than ISU can pay him and if he gets fired he still gets the money and he can get a job on tv or coaching or in the front office of an NBA team.

If he failed, I would expect Iowa State to find a way to get him back

I agree and understand, but the front office is good at evaluating talent...hence your first statement.

Hoiberg from what I understand has a good relationship with GarPax.

I imagine the Bulls look different next year. Interested to see if Pau fits in.

Pau isn't going anywhere. I expect either Noah or Taj to be traded somehow this offseason, unless the Bulls believe Noah's season was an anomaly because of the slowed recovery from the knee surgery.

Really they need another athletic wing to pair with Butler and Snell. I don't think Dunleavy is coming back, so getting a SF should be their biggest priority.

I also expect Dougie McBuckets and Nikola Mirotic to play big roles next season.

I hope McBuckets finds his way in the NBA,but I doubt it. Mirotic at the SF position was Thibs making a big gaffe imo.

Unless he can lay hands on Rose and keep him from getting hurt so much not sure it matters who coaches.

It wasn't a gaffe... it was an experiment. We were weak at the SF with injuries and inconsistent play and they were trying to find ways to get Mirotic on the floor more. Sitting him on the bench would have been a gaffe and finding ways to get him on the floor is a gaffe. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I assume by calling Iowa City the Athens of the Midwest, you are inferring it is the top college town in this region. That is far from true.

Meh. That's your opinion assuming your a Mad Town Homer. I've been to Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.

Iowa was the most fun.
