Braves vs. Dodgers, 10:10 EDT at Dodger Stadium

Peterson 2B
Maybin CF
Freeman 1B
Markakis RF
Gomes LF
Simmons SS
Ciriaco 3B (Callaspo scratched, then traded)
Bethancourt C
Teheran P vs. some frick

Braves lost game 1 of the series despite a good start from Williams Perez. Bullpen needs some work as Nick Massett, Eric Stults, and Trevor Cahill all suck balls.

I used to like them, but I would really like something to distract me from the Hawks game right now

@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: Callaspo trade between #Braves and #Dodgers back on. Braves pulled Callaspo from lineup. Six-player deal. Uribe would go to ATL.

Does anyone know which minor league players would be part of the deal? I'll be pissed if we give up any decent prospects for Uribe.

Especially four months of Uribe. Not worth it for this season.

@Ken_Rosenthal · 2m 2 minutes ago Deal between #Braves and #Dodgers is done pending approval of commissioner’s office. Callaspo waived right to reject any trade before 6/15.

We'll see who the prospects are, but I'm not liking the idea of this at all.

Uribe's numbers aren't great this year. At all.
No way he's that much of an upgrade at 3rd to justify giving up prospects, especially with Johnson about ready to come back.

Rosenthal also said that DOB said the prospects aren't anything special, so hopefully that's true.

Looks like he had pretty good numbers the past couple years so maybe the Braves are hoping for a return to form. I'm hoping this is a precursor to trading Chris Johnson.

Looks so
quote:

@DOBrienAJC: 6-player deal likely done, #Braves sending Callaspo and 3 others, none impact-type players, to Dodgers and getting a minor leaguer and Uribe

We'll see what DOB means by "impact-type" players.

Hmmmm

@Ken_Rosenthal Again, as reported previously, #Dodgers getting major-league pitching in deal. Would expect that Cahill and/or Stults is involved. 10:03 PM - 26 May 2015

Oh hell yeah. Hopefully Cahill since he's making more money.

Maybe we can get them to take Cahill AND Stults

As long as we're not giving up any decent prospects, I have no problem with this move. Uribe is likely on the decline, but he's a big improvement over Collaspo and even Johnson.
