Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) - Groundbreaking visual effects, a kick arse hero, a kick arse villain, and a very strong Sarah Connor are just some of the things Terminator 2 can use to argue GOAT action movie status.
quote:The big take away I got from this movie was it was the first time I saw real martial arts done with real actors who were not martial artists. It really changed the way actors approached action roles and changed the way they prepared for them.
The Matrix (1999) - A brilliant concept punctuated by solid action scenes makes this film soar to unparalleled heights. Many action films over the next decade were influenced by this film.

The Abyss and Star Trek V were the first to use morphing, but T2 took it to a new level.
A lot of people saw that one then saw the first one. For many people when they think terminator, they only think T2.
