This year is crucial for the Pelicans. They need a draft pick, and they really screwed that up. They need to trade for a pick in the late top 10 to try to snag either Willie Caullie Stein, Sam Dekker, Kelly Oubre, or any other SF or C prospect.

no asik, no playoffs. 100% sure of that. We have 3 pieces that are moveable this year, but for what is the main question.

Ryno is a one-dimensional stretch 4 that can space the floor.
Gordon has become an even better catch and shoot SG that can space as well.
Tyreke is a primary ball handler that can't shoot well, but gets to the rim at will.

What do you get for them that improves this team...?

News flash: the nba draft is a crap shoot, especially when you get past the first 3 or 4 picks. Rivers was drafted at 10. 1st round draft picks are good for depth and cheap contracts.

If you're talking coaching yes but 2016 is the year as far as roster.

The difference between pick 18(where they would've picked) and 7-10 picks later is negilgible. There is A LOT of good prospects at those positions in the late 1st early 2nd where they can buy/acquire without giving up the farm.

Counting on rookies to immediately solve a problem is foolish thinking.
