Red River could reach major flood stage...
quote:
SHREVEPORT, La. The rain keeps falling and the Red River keeps rising. Next week, it could reach levels similar to what we saw in 1990. Around June 5th, the Red River is expected to reach major flood stage at 33 feet.
quote:
Shreveport's flood stage is 30 feet. So at 33 feet, roads, streets, parking lots will flood.
quote:
According to the National Weather Service, the highest the Red River has crested was in 1849 at 45 feet.
