word. so i have the choice between yen and triss? triss is a bad bitch. any reason not to choose her?
Posted on 8/7/15 at 5:15 pm to Gnar Cat21
Personal preference. Although Yen's free downloadable outfit earns her a few points.

well, i just banged yen on top of a unicorn... not weird

geralt's gaze at the unicorn post-sex is hilarious.
Still, Triss will be mine during this second play through. Oh, and I will bang that chick in the gwent tournament again.

Patch 1.08 is out just in case anyone who hasn't played today wasn't aware.
Haven't tried it yet, but supposedly fixed the bug to "Hey, Wanna look at my stuff?" quest among others. Plus, this is the prepatory patch to the eventual release of the New Game+ mode.

I want to start a new game but I'm waiting for New Game + first.

I'm in the middle of a second play through now, but I kept my save file from my first run that I'll use for the NG+. I'll probably abandon this current run altogether.

All your upgrades you carry over to a new game instead of starting a new game all over again.
From the devs:
For players starting New Game Plus with a character level lower than 30, the game will automatically give it bump to 30. However, if your character’s level is higher, the game will keep it that way. You will also be able to reselect your difficulty level.
As for items, everything will carry over except quest items, books & letters, usable items, and trophies. All of these exclusions seem natural, but one other fan-favourite item that’s not carrying over is your collection of Gwent cards.
Finally, you’ll be given a free Clearing Potion at the start of your New Game Plus run. The potion allows you to reallocate all your skill points.

My question is will quest levels and difficulty be scaled.
Typically on other games that have a plus mode, the game scales in difficulty.
However, this game doesn't scale with the level.
So if I start a new game at level 37, will I get any XP from quests?
If not what is the point? If I can't get XP then the only XP will come from monster kills which is tiny so I could essentially start at level 37 and finish the game at level 40.
Just wonder how they are going to handle that issue.

No word on that yet. All that's been said is you can pick your difficulty level. Otherwise, you're right. If you're level 37 doing a level 4 quest, it'll be a cakewalk and you'll get crap XP for it.

if new game + is like bloodborne, you start the game over from the beginning with all your gear (I believe i did anyway) and your level but the enemies are buffed to be more difficult

Just finished the game last night. Did pretty much everything except a bunch of ?s in Skellige...got tired of riding around in a boat to get loot I didn't need. Easily one of the best games I ever played in my life. I'm kind of sad it's over as it's the only game I've been playing for almost two months now.
I will probably play the NG+ at some point and make some different decisions. I didn't play around with the potions or upgrade the signs much until I was closer to the end. I picked Yen so it's time to get me some that Triss next. And Ciri won't be getting the best ending next time but it won't be the worst either.

I believe I read that you will only start the new game + with what you had equipped when you decided to start it. I could be wrong, but I swear I read that somewhere lol.

So, just about finished with my 2nd play through...
There's a mission in Skellige that is glitched. After you defeat a certain critter, a cutscene is supposed to start. Instead, the critter loops in a never-ending death sequence. I believe it's one of the "Skellige's Most Wanted" missions with a suggested level requirement of 29. It doesn't work on patch 1.08. You can complete some of the steps of the quest with no problem, it's just the last part that's bugged.
There's also a glitch with a mission involving Triss about a figurine. This mission option didn't present itself until I was deep in the game. It's a level 14 mission and I'm level 34, but when I try to do the mission, there's a point in which the quest doesn't advance. Not sure what the problem is, but it is prevalent among players. It worked fine in my first play through with patch 1.07.
Hopefully those are fixed. I want that DLC to come out soon. That damn mining camp in Velen is driving me crazy. I must know what is down there!

gwent cards
I still can't find all of them. I purchased all that sold them that I came across. I played everyone I came across. I won the tournament. I beat Lambert's arse. I finished the Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige card collecting missions, but that "Collect all Gwent cards" quest is still there and I don't have the trophy.
Driving me crazy. I want to find it on my own, but I guess I need to google it and cheat.

Game Plus
Going to assume they bumped difficulty otherwise what is the point to raise people up to level 30.
So I assume the starting level for quests and witcher contracts will be lvl 30.
If anyone has it for the Xbox, let us know what the game is like.
