My guess is that he had been texting all weekend and she was basically sick of it. Probably just a token reply text and she would "deal with it" when she got home. Then gets home and finds out he actually did it. Much easier to redirect her self guilt onto someone else.

it's all speculation but this could be a possible scenario, what is strange to me is, generally speaking, people that usually go through with suicide just do it, the ones that announce or threaten to do it are usually just crying out for help
