I don't know if it will happen again or not only time will tell. At least then I will know for sure.
I wish you good luck because you obviously care for her, but there's a difference between nagging someone to buy different clothes or clean the apt and telling him that he doesn't smell good in the mornings and you don't like the way he walks and asking why he isn't happy all the time.
Unless you're about to go get some walking lessons, shower in the middle of the night before she wakes up and seek counseling to be happier all the time, these things will not change and her opinion will not change whether she voices it or not. Those are pretty mean things to say to someone for whom you allegedly care. That's not nagging. Think about how she would feel had you said those very same things to her.
I'm a woman and if I were a man, I'd skedaddle. Stress and hormones didn't make her feel that way. They may have made her blurt out what she was thinking.

Gris, your advice to the OP is profoundly accurate.
I walked a mile in those shoes over 20 yrs ago with a would-be Mrs. G..........and got the hell out.
One can only hope to make a minimal change in someone else's thought processes, viewpoints, and internal behaviors, which then manifest as their outward behaviors.
