Why do I keep hearing this? It makes me cringe when I hear that an SEC title doesn't matter. Why would a conference title not matter?

It shows me by winning the SEC regular season title that this LSU team is National championship capable and have all the tools in place.

Having a Top 8 national seed locked up is all that matters is a ridiculously stupid statement. You don't want to stop there. Keep winning... the highest top 8 ( #1 ) makes a super-regional and Omaha easier. You would play lower seeded teams..
