Yeah, no shite. None of these "swap deals" ever come to fruition. Just the thought of it seemed crazy to me.
ETA: And I've found Miguel Delaney is generally reliable. So, if he reported it, I feel like an approach along those lines was actually made.

Newcastle released Gutierrez by phone call (along with Taylor)
