Not condoning the hit and run but people shouldn't be riding bikes on a busy road no matter day or time. Pisses me off when the cyclist ride on river road when there are biking lanes on top of the levee.

the same people that bitch about people cycling on streets are the same people that will bitch when the city tries to build the proper biking lanes and whatnot

what if they were trying to get somewhere and had to get on Nicholson for a bit?

Bicycles have the right to use a "busy road". Not all of the levee is paved. A road bike is not able to bike over aggregate. That is why they use River Road.

That's because officially (though rarely enforced) bikes are banned on top the levee.
