McKinney, a Northeast Dallas suburb, was ranked as the #1 place to live by Time. The adjacent town of Frisco has the best public schools in the state, and parts of McKinney are in that school district.

Both metro areas have common issues, but they each have their upsides as well.

Houston is closer to BR, but Dallas has the largest LSU alumni chapter outside of Louisiana. Houston is more humid, but Dallas gets ice and strong wind.

Kinney town is cool. Not sold on Frisco yet, kids could turn out douchey just like Plano. Like most similar cities, the big suburb schools are decent academically and safe with good sports, just know that your kid may ask you for a civic and gel his hair until he goes to an SEC school/SMU and they reform him.
