The movie came out in 1979.

Yeah. All good ones. Was Graham Parker's Squeezing out Sparks from that year? Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps?

There ya go. What a great year for pop and rock. It was one of the first that I can actually remember keeping up with the charts. Christopher cross got SO MUCH HYPE.

He won 5 Grammy awards off that album. Not to mention an Oscar and Golden Globe in the same year.
And, as usual with most "Best New Artist" winners, he quickly faded into oblivion.

Which is just laughable when you look at some of these: LINK
The stones and steely Dan were off this year with releases. And Fleetwood Mac I think- and bee gees. Left a lot of room for other artists to flourish.

In Through the Out Door - Led Zeppelin
I remember when this album came out. I was a freshman at LSU and went in between classes to the Record Rink on College Drive and bought this record. I had no idea that my beloved Led Zeppelin could produce such a huge, steaming pile of suck. I had waited for months with bated breath for this LP; boy was I disappointed.

I gotta say..."In the Evening" is one hell of an opening track.

Most of those albums suck.

Its a great album. No argument there, but there was a heckuva lot of great music that year.
