Every single time you buy something that isn't the bare minimum basic need to survive, you are technically costing someone. You could donate that money to purchase polio medicine for Africa, but you don't do that. Ive interviewed and been hired over people that needed the job far more than me. I could have continued working two jobs and 70 hours a week, but I wanted more free time. As a society we've deemed that as acceptable, but when you break it down to the nitty gritty, I took a job and money from someone else who probably could have used it more.
