For those that have said BRPD is not culpable in all of this... if they didn't announce they wanted Collins for questioning, none of this happens. Leaks, leaks, leaks from the BRPD are what screwed Collins out of a large signing bonus. Nothing more, nothing less.

That, and Adam Shefter. I didn't monitor every single thing he's said on TV or written, but only once have I seen him say that "Collins isn't/wasn't a suspect," knowing full well the costly effect it would have on Collins' career. Omitting that fact, in the current NFL PR environment, is journalistically unethical because it created a public association of automatic guilt, evidenced by his being untouchable in the draft.
Collins should, at the very least, call out Shefter and BRPD publicly for their roles in significantly impeding his ability to be employable at-value. And also for distracting from the actual crime that occurred. They should be ashamed.
