John Manuel: Not sure that it’s 100 percent sewn up, because LSU’s RPI is probably going to sink a bit with Alcorn State, New Orleans, and then Mississippi State, Mizzou and South Carolina — three of the SEC’s lower RPI clubs — looming on the schedule. If LSU were to slip up, I suppose its possible for LSU to host but slip out of the top 8. But do you see that happening with this team? I don’t, not with their intensity, depth, offensive versatility … It’s just an impressive club with a very good talent base, very good coaching staff and nice balance. No real flaws in LSU’s game for a college baseball team.

not including midweeks if we finish 6-3 in the remaining SEC games, we will have a top 8 seed locked up when we go to Hoover.
