i'd consider us the biggest x-factor in the bracket... we might have IMO three solid pitchers who might be enough to get us to Sulphur, or we might have a team who just dominated a district that doesn't even hardly play baseball and would be overmatched against a team that does

You just described last year's King team perfectly.Undefeated in same district last year. Team with good pitching that would have given lots of teams trouble in a best of 3 but went to Barbe round one and got smacked around. Now West Monroe is no Barbe but playing in a district that weak is not good for you. Being challenged makes you better obviously. That said, going up there and winning would be great for Chalmette. Would get Jesuit round 2.

or we might be at home... either way round 2 will be local

i thought we played enough decent teams before district like St. Thomas More, Brother Martin, Newman, St. Paul's, etc. but that was half the season ago

i didn't think Grace King ever challenged itself enough to build a decent power rating where, sure they might not host, but they could have had a winnable game in round 1. instead they got Barbe.

but yeah next year's district will be worse than this one... maybe we'll only play them once each instead of twice. that's 16 games potentially with maybe 4 of them being even decent
