Yes, easily. Any full grown male should be able to do that.
That's really good for a 10 year old though.

It's JUST over 400m but ya. I only mention it because the link he posted had some kids times at 400m and some kids as a QM.

You are delusional. I could run it in around 55 sec in high school and that was pretty quick. Most grown men would struggle to do it in 1:10. I know I would.

Not really.

Most grown men are fat. Age 18-30 I should say. I didn't say they would. I said should.

I'm only 5'9" with small strides and ran track for football so I tended to stay more built for football. Nowadays I run and bike a lot more and eat much heavier so I am 20-30 pounds lighter than high school. If my lumbering self could do a 400 meters in ~ 55 seconds then (not particularly fast), I think with some training for that distance, I could go under a minute.

A quarter mile is 400mtrs. I ran track in high school and was busting 51 second 400mtrs regularly. At my age now I could bust a 56/57 right now, if I trained I could probably get 53.

Ok good, I am 37 so I get a pass!

Wait you're telling me 55 sec is not a solid time in the 40m in high schools
?? Did you even run track?
To win state you would have to be in the 49-52 sec range. 55 sec is a good time.
I'm 30 and couldn't break 1 min in the 400 right now.

Here is the first result i found on the internet for 400m times
According to this you are understating the difficulty.
Here is a "List of Standards," if you may, of 400m times for an 18 year old male. Depending on your goals and background, you can use this as a rough guide to evaluate your time or set goals. To convert to female equivalents, you can add 5-6 seconds to the times on the lower end. I'm not sure if this heuristic holds true further down the list.
47 seconds--National level high school 400m runner
51 seconds--Varsity level high school runner
56 seconds--JV level high school runner
60 seconds--very solid runner, not a 400m specialist
65 seconds--above average runner, probably not on track team
70 seconds--average runner who stays in shape, or could be a good athlete who doesn't run (e.g.football player)
80 seconds--below average in either speed or endurance
90 seconds--below average in both speed and endurance or well below average in one.

special education must have had their own division

quote:Sub 60 is not very fast, but I highly doubt most men of any age can do it. 400 meters--in addition to 800 meters--is an absolutely grueling distance because it relies heavily on both speed and endurance.

Sub 50 is fast. Any appropriate young male 18-35 willing to train can run sub 60
And by train I mean learn how to correctly run a 400mtr race
