Simmons is an incredible player for what it's worth.
Not being negative, but I hope he's all he's cracked up to be.
I still remember hearing how great Tasmin Mitchell was, what a steal the guy was, how badly Kentucky wanted him etc. Ended up being a slightly above-average 4 yr player, with nowhere near the impact we expected.

Not a good comparison. Taz wouldn't have been the #1 player in the draft

Remember, Fournette was also supposed to step in and be elite; he wasn't as good as Hill the year before.

Another one. Football is nothing like basketball and Hill was up for rookie of the year in the NFL

quote:

Victor- you're asking him to also replace Mickey (another 1st team all SEC player). If he was that good, why did he transfer in the first place? I think people are really overestimating

He transferred for family reasons. I believe his mom is sick. He was also behind several first round picks as a true freshman. From everyone around the team, he's been an absolute beast against martin and mickey in practices and scrimmages.

Victor would be a better comparison to Taz

Simmons is the number one ranked recruit. Guaranteed to be a superstar? Well...how did the last three no. 1 ranked recruits pan out? Well, last year it was Okafor. How'd he do? Year before that, it was Andrew Wiggins. Yep. Year before that it was Nerlens Noel. Blew an acl, but is still in the nba. I like the odds.

***Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Simmons is more highly touted than the three above were, Top 10 team? Absolutely should be.
