Most likely.

Assuming Victor is still ineligible to start the season, who are you going to start ahead of him?

Malone? - In the one game he got significant minutes (Ark.) he was out-rebounded by both Hornsby AND Patterson. It's tough to control the paint with a 7 footer who can't rebound or defend

Robinson? - He couldn't get minutes last year when LSU was desperate for someone, anyone, to give Martin/Mickey a break. I hope I'm wrong, but it's hard to expect that he will all of a sudden become a force inside.

Bridgwater? - Plays hard; Is pretty skilled, but other SEC PFs would drool knowing they would be matched up against a 6'4" PF

Epps? - Athletically he might be your best option, but can he handle the physical play inside? The SEC has several frontcourt players that couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat, but they are generally big and tall with the ability to bang around inside.

So yes, until Victor was ready to go, Kasongo would likely start. Even after Victor was eligible, Kasongo could still give you good minutes. LSU doesn't need him to score, just defend and rebound. Arguably, he does that better than your other options

Would be nice to see him put on a bunch of pounds and develop more skills and toughness as he runs the floor well for a tall man.
