I think and it's been posted by another member in the rant that lsu may be sticking strictly in state for DT. Alexander Lawrence Logan and there's a fourth that is slipping my mind

We need Ed Oliver here. Got damn that is one ferocious lineman. I don't care if he plays DE or DT here, we need him here. He's still underrated IMO even though he's already a 5 star.

I would love to have Ed Oliver in this class, but if not, I won't feel too bad about him going to Houston instead of a SEC rival.

I would say, "that's like Tim couch going to Kentucky, he won't hurt us there. "

But then I remember timmy beating us and my analogy went to shite.

I watched THREE plays of his video. You recruit him until the day he signs. PERIOD. He is a program changer.

I would love to see Oliver here but if he goes elsewhere so be it we will have a top DT class, already have the top dt and other in state kids, lets go for them.

Seems like everyone is almost giving up on him because of the DT in the state. We need him just as bad.

Not only that, but what if T. Valentine never sees the field and Quay Bain/Frank Herron move over to DE permanently?

2016 DL

Sione Teuhema 6-4 240 jr
Lewis Neal 6-1 240 sr
Maquedius Bain 6-3 310 jr
Deondre Clarke 6-3 245 jr

Davon Godchaux 6-4 305 jr
Greg Gilmore 6-4 315 jr
ADD Ed Oliver
ADD G. Logan

Christian LaCouture 6-5 300 sr
Trey Lealaimatafao 6-2 300 so
ADD Edwin Alexander 6-2 310 fr
ADD R. Lawrence

Tashawn Bower 6-5 250 sr
Frank Herron 6-5 285 jr
Arden Key 6-6 250 so
Isaiah Washington 6-4 265 so

DT doesn't look so crowded anymore. Still very deep, but we were thinking that there would be 10+ dt's on the 2016 roster.

Also have to think that Logan or Lawrence may end up out of state and therefore Oliver is a take....which he always was....tore it up at the opening right?

I'd rather have Oliver in this class than Logan. No disrespect to Logan. I like him too, but Oliver is a better prospect.

I still think OL is still a big need...even after last year's haul.

Possibly two Tackles and Center or Guard.

You can never have too much top rated talent, but LSU has some serious talent likely coming in with Lawrence and Alexander, among others. Oliver is most likely looking at Houston due to the potential log jam at DT.

Good problem to have

It happens that recruits hype up smaller schools they have connections to early and then decide between big fish later on. Jordan Scarlett committing to Florida Atlantic comes to mind, but it would be an insult to Houston to compare those two schools. We shall see, but it's obvious Houston is a real threat.

CP anD Basil:

How do you rank the remaining DTs we are pursuing?

Oliver
Lawrence
Logan
S. Taylor
K. Jones

Also,
can you rate their likelihood of them picking LSU?

This is the way I see it right now.

1a)Oliver 30%
1b)Lawrence 60%
2) Jones 50%
3) Taylor 80%
4) Logan 80%

Jones is just huge and is different than the rest for that reason, which is why I rate him a little higher on our board.

Of course, the percentages all change as soon as any of them commit to LSU or elsewhere. I have Taylor and Logan at 80% because I think they would be willing to sign with LSU regardless of whether or not the other guys do so. In the end, I think we end up with Alexander, Lawrence, Taylor, and Logan.
