He's talking about a forward in this year's basketball class.

I really hope so. I know the Papa kid is a long shot, but that would be ideal.

hopefully we will sign a forward. There's a few names out there...

Also just wanted to point out it was just announced that Chris "Sky" Walker is transferring from Florida. That kid was a top 10 recruit out of high school and has just never panned out at Florida.

I think LSU almost has to. Otherwise, for as good as some of the individual pieces are, the TEAM will be limited in it's ability to achieve big time success. Right now the frontcourt is:

Bridgwater - physical, but gets overwhelmed inside being only 6'4"

Malone - Is he really the guy LSU wants to rely on to anchor the post on defense and on the glass?

Robinson - Who knows? Seemingly has potential, but he couldn't get on the court at all (after Nov) even though LSU had little depth inside this past season. It's hard to expect a huge jump this year.

Epps - Tall, athletic, but thin. Also a guy who seems to be much more comfortable on the wing than in the paint

Simmons - Great talent, but he's know much more for his offensive ability on the wing than his defense/rebounding prowess. You waste his offensive talent if just anchor him down low and you worry if he will be able to defend SEC big men inside.

Victor - Highly regarded, but you still have to classify him as an unknown commodity. Plus, how soon will he be able to play?

It would have been great to get Newman. Getting Sampson is an unexpected plus. However, if given the option between having Newman, Sampson or Mickey for NEXT YEAR'S team, you would have to take Mickey. I know his man to man rebounding defense wasn't great, but it's hard to replace 10 rpg and 3 bpg.

I think the Greek kid has long been a pipe dream (if it ever really was a potential). However, getting Kasongo seems realistic. While he couldn't replace Mickey, he could at least give you some of what Mickey gave you inside. With the talent level of everyone around him, that might be more than enough.

Yea Kasongo will be visiting BR next weekend and deciding his college choice shortly after. I'm hopeful we can get him on board.

I wonder why everything has been so quiet. Maybe I should do more research but surprised there aren't more links and articles published. This kid could make a huge splash in any program he attends. Seems like a instant impact player...especially if surrounded by the right pieces.

I didn't realize that we're getting a visit from Kasongo. That sounds very promising.

The article i read says is a lock for MSU and he has received 11 crystal balls fro MSU as well. Supposedly the visit there went wonderful and his mentor says he is MSU to lose.

Are you claiming this like you did Sampson or its this just a hutch or feeling. some sort of flirtation right now.

So far in my book you are 1 for 1.

If Donovan goes to the pros, I would think we put the full court press on Dickerson. Would be a great add to an unbelievable class.

Yea. He really liked his MSU visit, but with LSU getting a chance at him right before his announcement, I like our chances to at least give him something serious to think about.

Oh no I'm not saying anything! I'm saying he will have the right weapons around him if he does choose LSU!

Honestly even with Malik Newman at MSU I am not understanding why he woudl pick them over us. I am shocked a big isn't calling JJ begging for the opportunity to be on this squad.

Like I don't see why 5 star Qbs aren't walking to BR by feet to get on this team and play with this talent.
