So you're already writing him off as one of the greatest big men of all-time who will have more MVP's than Shaq and as many as Duncan? I'm a Pelicans and Davis fan, but let him play before we start making idiotic claims. There's been so many players have great rookie or 2nd/3rd years in the NBA and tapper off.

You're insane if you think AD has peaked....he will get better and stay there.

I agree on 2 MVPs as a given is a bit silly.

But he's on a different level. Name all of the young players who have been THIS great who tapered off, not due to injury.

Perhaps, but no one has had the career arc that Davis has had thus far.

Take David Robinson, a player with a similar game to AD. Robinson put up a PER of 30.7 in 1993-1994. His per 36 numbers were 26.5 pts on 50.7% shooting, 9.5 reb, 4.2 ast, 2.9 blks, 1.5 stl, and 2.8 tov. AD just recorded a 30.8 PER with per 36 numbers of 24.3 pts on 53.5% shooting, 10.2 reb, 2.2 ast, 2.9 blks, 1.5 stl, and 1.4 tov.

Robinson put those numbers up at 28 years old and in his 5th season in the league.

At 22 years old, in only his 3rd NBA season, you could argue that Anthony Davis just matched the best season of David Robinson's career.

and as many as Steve Nash and Karl Malone and Moses Malone all of whom he is already better than. Y'all are cherry picking guys who happened to not win a lot for whatever reason. There are also players not nearly as good as he is conservatively projected to be who won more.

There are two players with better PERs than he achieved at 21 with his body not fully filled out. Lebron and Michael Jordan. They have 4 and 5 respectively. Dude might not win 2 MVPs but the precedents don't make it shocking either way. There's outliers on both sides and by smoothing the curve you find out that great players end up getting about the amount of MVPs you would expect.

We aren't in any danger of Kyle Lowry or Paul Milsap taking one over him like some of y'all are making it seem. If thats not how y'all are making it seem, whats the relevance of bringing up great players not winning them? We know there are lots of candidates. 2 in 8 years is a 25% rate. Seems pretty tame to me for the clear choice for #1 highest rated player if you average out projected play over the next 8 years.
