Yep, hotels and resorts have all sorts of stuff like this they hit you for. Valet parking at many of the hotels in downtown NOLA is upwards of $50/night. Sandestin charges a resort fee % on top of any purchases made at Baytowne Wharf.

to be fair, having a parking lot downtown in any city is pretty expensive (and also contracted through outside companies). the alternative there is raising everyones rates, regardless of car. id rather that be an optional fee than built in.

resort fees are just gaming the system. whole different beast.
